Keynote #6 Is there a future for advertising? - Questioning transparency in a black box industry
TV commercials have been on the decline in the advertising industry, not only because of the decline in viewer ratings and the influence of the medium, but also because many advertisers have pointed out that TV commercials have become a “black box” in business transactions. In this session, we will reexamine the transparency of TV commercials, look at the future of TV commercials as a marketing method, and by extension, the transparency of advertising as a whole, and discuss solutions to return advertising to the hands of advertisers, not just a method, and not just an agency.
