MC-1 Who Are the Creators of the New Era in Television?
Television has long been the symbol of mass media. Recently, the definition and positioning of "TV" itself has begun to undergo a major change in Japan, with the spread of online distribution services such as TVer and ABEMA, an increase in the number of households watching YouTube via TV, and a dramatic increase in the time spent viewing short videos on smartphones, especially on TikTok.
What new possibilities exist for "TV" in this new age of mixing the Internet and terrestrial broadcasting, TV screens and smartphones?
In this session, we would like to hear from three people who continue to work on the front lines of TV stations about the key points of the new "TV" era that will come, and about the qualities and abilities that will be required of creators in that era.
